This Halloween is undoubtedly different from the rest. Dressing up and having fun alone at home isn't the most exciting to do. I tried to bring the Halloween spirit home and have a relaxing day by learning to sew (which resulted in an adorable ladybug running around our house), making cute bullet journaling spreads, and baking for friends and family. I'm a weakling for watching horror movies by myself, but I ended the night with some delicious Thai food (not homemade this time!) and an entertaining comedy.

Using a sewing machine for the first time was a little difficult, I messed up in many places and had to hide a few mistakes (oops), but it was satisfying knowing I can start to hem and patch clothes myself, without having to rely on my mom. Apparently t-shirt material and sewing circles aren't the most beginner-friendly projects, but I'm proud of my work.
SPOOKY BROWNIES

Adapted from All Recipes.
Ingredients
Makes 24 mini brownies
1/4 c vegetable or canola oil
1/4 c Greek yogurt
1/4 c white sugar
1/4 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t vanilla extract
1/3 c cocoa powder
1/2 c all-purpose flour
1/4 t salt
1/4 t baking powder
Frosting:
2 T butter
1/4 c confectioners sugar
1/4 t vanilla extract
Directions
Lightly whip eggs. Mix in oil, Greek yogurt, white sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
Sift in cocoa powder and flour. Add salt and baking powder, and mix well.
Grease the bottom and edges of a mini cupcake tray. Pour ~3/4 T of batter into each hole.
Bake at 350˚F (375˚on my oven) for 10-12 minutes. These brownies are not fudgy because of the low oil content, so they will be fluffier and resemble a dense, chocolate cake.
Frosting: whip together butter, confectioner's sugar, and vanilla extract for a quick buttercream. Pipe decorations using a narrow round tip after brownies have cooled.
